EDDIE 'THE EAGLE' EDWARDS
Michael Edwards, better known as Eddie “The Eagle” Edwards, was Born in Cheltenham. Eddie learnt to ski at the Gloucester Ski & Snowboard Centre in the United Kingdom.To improve his chances of qualifying for the Calgary Olympics in 1988, he moved to Lake Placid in the US to train and enter races of a higher standard. However, he quickly found himself short on funds. To realise his Olympic dream, he decided to switch to ski jumping for reasons of cost and easier qualification as there were no other British ski jumpers with whom to compete for a place. The rest, as they say, is history!
XAVIER POYNTON
At the age of just 6, Xavier started to pick up his first national title: Welsh School’s champion, and has since added to his collection British Schoolboys Indoor Champion, Welsh and English Outdoor Champion, as well as Welsh Alpine Slalom and Giant Slalom Champion, English and British Slalom Alpine Champion, and Lowlands Champion.
Xavier is so proud to be a part of The Ellie Soutter Foundation family, if it had not been for them, his dream would have come to an end long ago. Xav’s family are not in a position to fund this sport and are hugely grateful to the foundation for their support.
SARAH GOBRAN
Sarah is returning as compère at the 2024 awards and alongside Eddie' The Eagle' Edwards.
An actor and co-founder and producer of the Guildford Shakespeare Company, Sarah’s passion for acting began at the age of seven. She trained at the Guildford School of Acting and went on to perform in a variety of theatre and film. The very popular Guildford Shakespeare Company, which was set up in 2006, was Sarah’s brainchild.
DARIUS ZIATABARI
Darius Ziatabari brings his childhood hobby of Magic and Mind Reading to the VIP reception at the Surrey Property Awards to create an experience that the guests will remember! Darius is a member of The Magic Circle and has consulted for both David Blaine and Penn & Teller over the years.
Darius is also a director of Equinox Living and Charlbury Group, and has built out over 300 apartments over the last 5 years and has a primary focus on larger planning plays, such as a current planning submission for a 25 storey tower in Park Royal, North Acton, with 176 apartments
